#627 Danone – Four Coches Fuera De Serie (Die-Cast Promotional Vehicles) (1996)

This is a extremely rare set. I got it inwards 1996 yesteryear collecting yogurt lids, cannot just think how many, simply it was non easy. The vehicles were depicted inwards Yogurt 8-packs in addition to they looked actually great. I had to larn them at whatsoever cost.

So, when I received the parcel I was completely disappointed. The box came inwards this white cardboard box, in addition to inside, at that topographic point was roughly other cardboard box amongst windows in addition to the 4 models inside. The lineament of the models is low, or rather low... real badly finished, no interiors, oil edges... in addition to fifty-fifty fragile. The motorcycle model breaks easily. At the dorsum of the box, yous tin read that this is a collectable, simply non a toy.

The box is also real fragile: the cardboard is real sparse in addition to windows pause easily, because they are also actually thin. That´s why I gauge at that topographic point are non many sets similar mine out there. I ever kept it inwards the protective white cardboard box, in addition to took it out of it perhaps ii times inwards twenty years: the solar daytime I received it in addition to the solar daytime I took these pictures.

All inwards all, extremely rare collectibles, for certain appeals many die-cast collectors. The 4 cars are reproductions of Danone´s delivery cars, trucks or motorbikes from unlike years/decades.

#659 Burger Manly Somebody Monarch - Kid's Social Club - Boomer, Jaws As Well As I.Q. (1991)

These figures were a giveaway of Burger King inward their children carte du jour box, named, dorsum them, "kid's meal". This advertisement was launched inward 1991 (although the figures are copyrighted 1990), in addition to is the solely i I remember. My parents never took me to this variety of fast nutrient restaurants, thus I merely had a peril to genuinely become within the eating seat in i lawsuit for a birthday party. I saw these figures in addition to I recollect thinking how cool would it survive to cause got those figures. The agency they were presented, their colours in addition to their character were astonishing, at to the lowest degree for a 10 twelvemonth quondam boy. I cannot recollect whatever commercial on TV, or whatever advertising inward magazines, it was merely in i lawsuit that I saw these figures.

Later I got merely about inward a flea market. I saw them, in addition to I bought them real cheap. It was solely latterly that I sold them. I liked them, but I was non real interested inward collecting them. After all, yous cannot collect everything. I took pictures of them for my shop, in addition to that's what I exhibit inward this entry. Sorry for the bad character of the pictures.

I cause got establish merely about data well-nigh this promo inward the U.S., but I am non certain if it was the same inward Europe, or particularly, inward Spain. Apparently at that topographic point was a laid out batch of 4 figures, consisting of:

• Kid Vid: the leader of the gang, in addition to the "cool" guy. Personally, I intend it is the worst figure, since it does await real strange. There are no kids similar this one, or, at least, I never met any.
• I.Q.: The smart guy inward the gang wears merely about variety of long jacket amongst a bow tie, has messy pilus in addition to wears glasses. Three cliches inward one. The figure is nice, It is in all probability the i I similar most.
• Boomer: The daughter inward the BK Club is real fond of sports. She wears skates in addition to has a pony tail. The figure is also nice, but the skates teach inward loose merely about stability.
• Jaws: The final fellow member of the BK Club is a to a greater extent than generic figure, amongst no distinctive feature. Aparently he was ever willing to swallow a hamburger.

Later, the serial was expanded amongst to a greater extent than toys in addition to merely about to a greater extent than characters, exactly 4 children in addition to a dog. I produce non cause got whatever references of them, but these were:

• Wheels: H5N1 man child inward a bike chair.
• Lingo: Seems to survive a smart guy.
• Snaps: H5N1 blonde daughter used to cause got many pictures.
• J.D.: H5N1 Canis familiaris amongst a helmet.
• Jazz: H5N1 daughter whose passion was music. This was introduced much later, yesteryear the 2000s.

There was also a minute batch of figures released, inward which each grapheme included merely about accesory, in addition to thus much to a greater extent than serial where the kids played sports, or rode on insects, vehicles... the Kid's Club promotions expanded until the mid 2000s, with promotions every straight off in addition to then.

Most figures from the laid out serial are today unexpensive in addition to tardily to find. I justice at that topographic point non thus many fast nutrient toy collectors out at that topographic point compared to how many of these figures were genuinely sold (or given away) at the time.

#580 Masters Of The Universe – Meteorbs - Orbear (1987)

When the Masters of the Universe fame was decaying, Mattel decided to innovate a serial of 10 figures that did non tally the balance of the series. These were ix animals as well as 1 robt that could transform into eggs.

HEROIC METEORBS

• Cometroid – Heroic meteorb amongst mechanical power.
• Ty-Grrr – Heroic tiger Meteorb.
• Astro Lion – Heroic Panthera leo amongst amazing brute strength.
• Comet Cat – Heroic panther. The fastest of the Meteorbs.
• Tuskor – Heroic Mammooth who busts strength fields amongst tusks.

EVIL METEORBS

• Dinosorb – Evil brontosaurus who stomps to start quakes.
• Crocobite – Evil crocodile amongst crushing jaws.
• Rhinorb – Evil rhinoceros amongst horrible ramming horn.
• Orbear – Evil grizzly who bashes enemies amongst his claws.
• Gore-illa – Evil ape amongst monstrous muscle-power.

The story created to tally the Meteorbs into this serial was that they were powerful creatures from infinite that reached Eternia together amongst Rokkon as well as Stonedar (two figures from serial 5). They appeared inwards a few comics, catalogues from dissimilar countries as well as also inwards 1 chapter of Princess of Power.

The figures are non fifty-fifty a Mattel toy. They were manufactured yesteryear Bandai inwards Japan. They belonged to approximately other toyline called Tamagoras, that reached a for sure popularity yesteryear the showtime of the 80s. Unfortunately, the Meteorbs didn´t sell real well, as well as were discontinued afterward alone 1 wave/ year. The MotU were already inwards their destination stage as well as the concept was also different. It didn´t work, although transforming toys were approximately variety of fashion dorsum them.

I ain alone 1 of these, Orbear, the bear.

I also convey several figures from the Huevox serial yesteryear Phoskitos. Phoskitos is a biscuit as well as chocolate dessert intended for children at school. They e'er convey approximately advertisement running amongst stickers or whatever. In this example you lot could win these figures. They are from the belatedly 2000s as well as made inwards China. One of them is identical to Tuskor the Mammooth, alone inwards approximately other colour.

#589 Yolanda - Dragon Ball (Matutano Promotional) (1992)

This 4 figures were give-aways from Matutano inwards the early on 90s. They were available during the summertime of 1992, although I got mine later. To larn them you lot had to swallow Matutano snacks, as well as collect 4 stickers that were included inwards each pack, as well as hence telephone commutation them for ane figure.

The collection comprised fourteen figures, despite the bundle stated that in that place were 10 unlike ones. Matutano´s figures are made of rubber, as well as unopen to people used it equally a pencil eraser. I am non certain if it was intended equally such, because they didn´t locomote really well.

The figures were manufactured past times Yolanda, which is a companionship nosotros lead keep talked most a few times inwards this blog. Each figure is marked alongside "Yolanda" as well as has the copyright of (c) Toei Studios 1986.

The same figures were also available inwards the classic Yolanda difficult plastic; either monochromatic or hand-painted (like the Supermonstruos). Monochromatic figures had the typical Yolanda colours, similar green, gold, majestic or grey... I cannot say correct at ane time if the figures were sold after or earlier the Matutano promotion, as well as I produce non lead keep whatever figures other than these for comparing purposes.

I lead keep never been a keen fan of Dragon Ball, fifty-fifty though most people inwards my historic menses watched the cartoons as well as read the comics at the time. I shout out upwardly in that place was a lot of trade to this series, as well as it was tardily to autumn for them. Today the cartoons powerfulness live considered a flake fierce for children. On the other hand, I ever loved Matutano chips, inwards whatever of their versions, as well as I however do.

And now, all the 4 figures again, only this time, the pictures are taken without flash. I think you lot tin sack encounter the sculpts improve now.

FACTS as well as FIGURES:

• Name: SON GOKU, KRILIN as well as SON GOHAN

#828 Unknown Toymaker - Sumsi Pvc Figure (Around 1985)

This bee is the mascot of the Austrian-based banking venture Raiffeisen-Bank. Even today, the brave in addition to hard-working bee is even in addition to hence beingness used past times the same banking venture inwards several publications for children, or inwards exceptional give-away products, similar bicycle helmets or backpacks.

This figure is in all likelihood from the mid 80s, although I cannot tell it accurately, every bit I cannot pose the maker of the figure. It is completely unmarked.

Interestingly, the figure has a telephone on its back, in addition to hence I assume at the fourth dimension it was a keyring. I works life 2 of these, in addition to none had the keyring anymore, in addition to hence this must every bit good live taken every bit a hypothesis.

The pigment travel is non the best, fifty-fifty considering that it was made to a greater extent than than thirty years ago, simply even in addition to hence a rare in addition to prissy promotional plastic/PVC figure.

UPDATE1 (Dec/2018): H5N1 different, yet real similar, model.

FACTS in addition to FIGURES:

• Name: SUMSI (PROMO PVC FIGURE FROM RAIFFEISEN BANK)
• Year: Around 1985
• Company: Unknown Toymaker (Austria? / Germany?)
• Size of the figures: Around iv cm

#890 Hot Wheels! – Assault Pack Sand Stinger In Addition To Slaughter Jaws (Mcdonald’S Promo) (1993)

Hot Wheels was in all probability the around innovative die-cast manufacturer during the 90s, launching a large let on of serial as well as subseries amongst real foreign as well as eye-catching features.

This is perchance i of those brusque lines that caused a greater surprise at the time, beingness fifty-fifty chosen past times McDonald’s to furnish them inwards their Happy Meal during a pair of months. Those were smaller as well as simplified versions of the ordinary, retail models, merely to relieve costs as well as gibe them to McDonald’s cost make for their Happy Meal giveaways.

The ones I acquaint are exactly those McDonald’s versions of ii of the around mutual as well as slow to honor models. These are the solely ones I have, I constitute them latterly as well as decided to lastly purchase them, I every bit good had about chances before, but for about reason, I never considered buying them.

The characteristic of these monster trucks is that they actually bring a monster inside. When pushing a piddling downward at the back, the automobile volition reveal about jaws, eyes, natural language as well as other monster parts inwards vivid colours as well as real cool designs. Great idea!

The trouble was discontinued real soon later its release, perchance the retail cost was quite high, or perchance it is something real weird that it never got to convince kids. It is non a car, the size is bigger (does non gibe tracks or parking lots) than the common iii inches as well as it is non an activeness figure, as well as then beingness something novel as well as non quite compatible amongst other toys inwards children´s playrooms in all probability played against itself.

FACTS AND FIGURES:

• Name: ATTACK PACK SAND STINGER as well as SLAUGHTER JAWS
• Scale: slightly smaller than iii inches, could live 1:87
• Year: 1993
• Company: Hot Wheels! (U.S.A.)
• Size: approx. 3’’ or vii cm

#908 Star Toys - Basketball Game Players (Kellogg's Promo Spain) (1991)

One of the toys I cannot forget from my childhood are 3 sets of basketball game players made past times Star Toys. I never had whatever of them, merely still, here´s the story.

In 1991, Kellogg´s, the good known build for breakfast cereals, decided to launch a novel production inwards Spain. This production was called Chocos, in addition to consisted of cereal crops alongside chocolate season and, to a greater extent than or less, the cast of a half  sphere. I yell upward perfectly the parcel every bit well, all inwards nighttime light-green alongside the xanthous giraffe inwards basketball game outfit that was afterward replaced past times a brownish bear. I am non certain if the giraffe is the same giraffe called "Shorty" or if it was a novel grapheme designed specifically for launching that product.

Maybe because of the giraffe, the really outset offering they had was a educate of v plastic basketball game players (to live chosen inwards i out of 3 colours/teams) that were made past times Star Toys. Maybe this offering was alone for Spain, since, I haven´t seen the plastic figures anywhere else.

The figures were standing inwards unlike positions, similar throwing the ball, inwards defensive pose or driving the ball alongside i hand. Out of v figures, 3 had a basketball game inwards its hands. Also interesting is that in that location are 3 white players in addition to ii dark ones.

All v figures stand upward inwards a five-pointed star, alongside white borders in addition to coloured within inwards red, xanthous or blue, in addition to send a sticker inwards its breast alongside the text "Kellogg´s Chocos", merely this sticker really frequently missing. The base of operations are marked: "(c) 1991 Kellogg Company" in addition to "Star Toys”.

The colours available were red, xanthous in addition to blue. This 3 inmediatly made me mean value of Chicago Bulls, L.A. Lakers in addition to Detroit Pistons, 3 of the biggest teams at that time, although, since in that location were non marked, they could too live other teams alongside similar colours... both from the NBA or the ACB (Spanish Pro League), or fifty-fifty National Teams.

I missy a light-green team, who at the fourth dimension could convey been the Boston Celtics, my favorite squad of the early on 90s.

Also during the early on 90, Yolanda released a curt serial of "real" NBA players inwards PVC inwards a slightly bigger scale. This business is currently really sought-after, in addition to hard to uncovering complete, since each figure came alongside a ball that alongside the fourth dimension is easily detachable from the figure.

Read a longer article written past times myself (in Spanish) inwards Figuras En Acción Nr. 18.
